Lawrence Tureaud changed his name to Mr. T before The A-Team began. As B.A. Baracus, Mr. T was the team's mechanic and had a talent for making machinery from unrelated 'junk'! Most amazingly, B.A. Baracus (Mr. T) managed to achieve this despite the weight of gold chains around his neck and plentiful jewelry around his hands.

Though a tough persona, Mr. T had one small flaw. As B.A. Baracus, he was afraid to fly and his team always managed to creatively get him on a plane to their next destination. When he wasn't fighting crime, B.A.Baracus was a gentle man, spending much time at a children's shelter.
