The A-Team's friend and journalist, Amy Allen, was played by Melinda Culea. The role of Amy Allen (Melinda Culea) in The A-Team began when she hired them to track down her fellow journalist, Al Massey, who had been captured in Mexico.

Then, Amy Allen blackmailed the team by threatening to write a feature about them. In this way, Amy Allen (Melinda Culea) would often use her position as a journalist to keep The A-Team under her watch. Amy Allen left the show during the second season. Melinda Culea later starred in Knots Landing and John Candy's final film - Wagon's East.
